ABOUT US
We have only recently started our Kennel name of Bojangels and purchased our first Golden Retriever for showing in 2006, here in France, although we have owned Goldens for over 15 years. Our small family has recently been added to with the birth of our long awaited daughter, Isabelle, she has already fallen in love with our dogs, especially Ellie.
Our first dog was not a Golden but a Border Collie, my partner, Eddie, and I had always loved this breed and so Rex arrived in our lives. Rex was always Eddie’s dog although I took him to obedience classes and ran around fields doing agility with him he was always a man’s dog!
On our regular visits to the Crufts Dog Show we had fallen in love with another breed - the Golden Retriever. When we decided to get a second dog it had to be a golden, so in September 1993 Abby entered our lives and changed them forever!
It is because of this wonderful dog that our love of the Golden Retriever has grown and grown, we kept a daughter of Abby from her one and only litter in 1997 “Penny”. When we came to France we decided that now we had more time and space we would love to show our dogs and perhaps have a litter or two. So we started looking for a breeder who could help us. We found Sally Schofield of Hareswith Golden Retrievers who had just the dogs we liked. We had to wait a long time but eventually “Ellie” arrived in our lives. Sally helped us with how to get started in showing and how to train and groom Ellie.
It’s something that we really enjoy, we have met many new friends and have had good times and bad in the show ring although we enjoy the competition there is only one person who can take the best dog home, win or lose - that’s always me!!!
